What you will study

MSc in Business Administration and Digital Business at Copenhagen Business School is a two year full time master's taught in English. It carries 120 ECTS and mixes management thinking with the technical and legal sides of digitalisation. The programme has around 130 students, 57 per cent of them from outside Denmark, with an average age of 25.1.

What you study

Courses sit in three areas. Business covers strategy, management, innovation and entrepreneurship in the digital economy. Technology gives you a technical base in programming, data and systems development. Policy and Law looks at how regulation, ethics and security shape digital business.

Named courses include Object Oriented Programming, Engines of Digital Business, Cyber Security, Regulation, and Policy in Digital Business, Research Methods for Digital Business, Designing and Developing Digital Business Applications, Strategic and Tactical Tools for Digital Business and EU Internet Law. The first semester depends on your bachelor background, so students from CBS's BSc in Business Administration and Digital Management, students from HA(it.) and students with other degrees start with different course sets. The third semester is open: 30 ECTS of electives, exchange or an internship. The programme ends with a 30 ECTS master's thesis.

How the programme is organised

Teaching is case based and interdisciplinary. You work on the design and analysis of real digital challenges, often across business, technology and law at once. Exams vary: written exams on campus, written assignments, and group exams with an oral defence. The programme describes itself as roughly 70 per cent IT and technology and 30 per cent law.

Who it suits

You do not need to be a technical expert. Curiosity about AI, big data, cybersecurity and AR/VR matters more. Expect some parts to be hard: technical courses can be demanding if you come from business, and law or management can be new if you come from a technical background. That mix is deliberate, so you learn to bridge disciplines and lead digital transformation in startups, established companies and public organisations.

Admission, language and next steps

The programme is taught in English. If your bachelor was not taught in English, CBS recommends you look at its English language requirements. Applications for master's programmes go directly to CBS, not through optagelse.dk. Students from the EU/EEA and Switzerland study free of charge; other students pay a fee that CBS sets.
