What you study

The programme trains you to handle digital media production on your own: design, planning, realisation, project management, implementation, administration and maintenance. You work across five main areas.

  • User interface development: planning, design and production of digital interfaces, based on a broad range of development methods.
  • User experience: how to involve the user, understand them, test the experience and read the data you get.
  • Content production: what content fits which media platform, and how to get your message across.
  • Business: company structures and processes, data, and where the multimedia designer sits in the value chain.
  • Technology: understanding and investigating the technologies used in digital media production now, so you can pick up new ones later.

You also work cross-discipline with communication and presentation, journalism and copywriting, graphic design, aesthetics, 3D animation and audio/video, IT systems, data communication and websites, project management, concept development, business understanding and marketing. Tools include Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and you learn HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP.
