What you will study

This is a two-year full-time international master's specialisation in Innovation Management, part of the Economics and Business Administration programme at Aalborg University. You earn both a Danish diploma from Aalborg University and a Chinese diploma from UCAS (Double Master's Degree).

What you study

The programme gives you a deep understanding of what innovation is and how to manage innovation processes. Innovation is the targeted process of creating value based on ideas, and it drives competitiveness and sustainability in companies, institutions and organisations. You learn to identify and develop creative ideas and bring them to life so they create value and strengthen the competitive advantage of innovative organisations.

Modules cover research areas within innovation management, planning, innovation systems, creativity, organisation, method, learning, globalisation and business models. Teaching is based on problem-based learning: you learn to identify, process and solve real-world problems. You also receive professional guidance from researchers and practitioners from the business world.

Upon graduation you will have acquired theories and methods in innovation for use in research and practice, competencies to create value through systematic processes, and tools for understanding and managing complex innovation processes.

How the programme is organised

The first two semesters give you an understanding of innovation and related disciplines at the macro, meso and micro levels. The third semester gives you the opportunity to take a company stay in an international group, where you apply your knowledge. This is a project-oriented company collaboration, and you can be associated with a company or organisation in China, Denmark or elsewhere. Alternatively, you can take a semester at another Danish university, another programme at Aalborg University, or work on a research project at the university. The fourth semester includes the thesis, which may also involve collaboration with a company.
