A tuition fee waiver plus DKK 7,800 a month towards living costs, for up to 22 months
Overview
This step is for non-EU/EEA citizens who have to pay tuition at Roskilde University. If you are from an EU country, an EEA country or Switzerland, you do not pay tuition for the master's programmes and should go to step 6 instead.
A limited number of Danish state tuition fee waivers and scholarships are offered for selected master's programmes. They go to highly talented students from countries outside the EU/EEA who are required to pay tuition fees at Roskilde University.
The waivers and scholarships are only distributed once a year, for the September entry. The tuition fee waiver and scholarship has a maximum length of 22 months for programmes that start in September. The scholarship amounts to DKK 7,800 per month and is meant to cover living expenses in Denmark.
If you receive a tuition fee waiver and scholarship, you must follow the study plan and not be delayed in your studies to keep it. Before each admission round, the university selects the specific master's programmes that may offer one or more tuition fee waivers and scholarships.
For the September 2026 entry, the programmes offering a tuition fee waiver and scholarship were Media and Communication, Environmental Science, Nordic Urban Planning Studies and Computer Science. Right before the application round for non-EU/EEA applicants opens on 15 December 2026, you can expect to find an up-to-date list of programmes offering scholarships for the September 2027 entry on this page.
