A tuition fee waiver plus a monthly stipend (DKK 11,225 a month for new students in 2026) for four semesters
Overview
Each September intake, Aalborg University grants a limited number of scholarships to individually selected applicants from non-EU/EEA countries. The selection is based on strategic considerations and academic qualifications. The scholarships are financed by the Danish Government and awarded by Aalborg University.
All non-EU applicants are automatically considered when applying to a master's programme. You cannot apply for a scholarship separately. The university grants approximately 15 scholarships each year, so do not rely solely on receiving one.
A scholarship consists of a tuition fee waiver and a monthly stipend aimed at covering living expenses during the four semesters of your master's programme. The stipend rate for new students in 2026 is 11,225 DKK / 1503 EUR per month. You might be required to pay tax on the stipend.
The stipend is paid for four semesters, which is the standard duration of a master's degree. If your studies are prolonged, you will not receive further stipends beyond the first two years of study. The scholarship might not cover all your living expenses in Denmark, so you may need to supplement it with your own savings, a student loan from your home country, or a student job.
