Overview

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters are master's programmes jointly designed and delivered by a group of higher education institutions. Each programme involves at least three institutions from at least three different countries, plus associated partners from academia and beyond.

You study at several universities in Europe and beyond. A typical programme includes periods of study, research, traineeship, thesis preparation and defence.

Programmes last one to two academic years (60, 90 or 120 ECTS credits). You graduate with either a joint degree (one certificate issued on behalf of at least two institutions) or multiple degrees (at least two certificates from two institutions in the consortium). You define this in detail in your study agreement at the start of your studies.

Students from all over the world are welcome. You apply directly to the institution running your chosen programme, not through a central application.

Eligibility

  • You must have a bachelor's degree (first degree), or be in your last year of bachelor studies.
  • You must graduate before the master's programme starts.
  • You may also apply if you demonstrate a bachelor's equivalent level of learning, officially recognised according to national legislation and practices in the degree awarding country.

What it covers

  • Full scholarships may be offered to the best-ranked students worldwide.
  • Scholarships cover your participation costs.
  • They contribute to travel.
  • They contribute to visa costs.
